AJ Barlas

AJ adds to Venturewebs multi-national family and is the passionate Australian of the team. His fervency for the action sports industry brought him first to Whislter, and then to settle here in Squamish.

Coming out of school (Langara College in Vancouver) with distinctions in design, AJ began his time at VentureWeb as a junior designer/developer and also assisted the big man with online marketing initiatives. This was right around the time that social media really began to take off, something which AJ was intrigued by the inner workings of, and coupled with the online marketing he was performing on a daily basis, he later switched completely to the role of online marketing manager at VentureWeb. AJ still does a little design and his development skills come in handy with setting up elements for campaigns, but his day to day is now spent handling and analyzing clients online campaigns, and their websites online presence within the SERP's.

When not staring at the pixels of his computer screen, AJ can be found out in the woods riding his mountain bike, shooting video or photo for his mountain bike design blog, Straightshot, maintaing the local trails (good trail karma ;) ), or spending some quality time with his wife, Elana and dog, Roam. Not one to shy away from spending time with close friends, he can often be found reciting lines from his favourite comedies of the moment, or getting involved in a discussion regarding the ways of the world, anything design, and life as a whole.
