Backtweets for Measuring Success on Twitter
Ever wondered what the point of Twitter is? Who hasn't? But as it finally reaches critical mass outside of the 'tech community', enough individuals and companies are using it to finally give it some merit. Sure it will succumb to marketing spam like all the other online services out there, but for the time being it can still be used as a valuable tool to get your message out. And the best part? There's even a way to measure it now! Well, you can measure one aspect of it, the # of tweets that point back to your website. Check out www.backtweets.com. Odds are most of them are your own posts, but it's a neet way to see who else is pointing tweets at your website, either with short URL's or original URL's. Doesn't seem to work for sites with only a few tweet links that I know I've tweeted about like www.snowcats.ca, but works great for the more popular links I've tweeted such as www.doglotion.com.
