Capture "Tweets" and "Monitter" your own super highway!
Whoa, this whole Twitter thing was something I entered into for a bit of fun. However I am now starting to fathom the amazing potential of Twitter. It takes a while for the penny to drop. I blame my parents for dropping me on my head as a baby. Never the less, Twitter is rapidly accelerating into a cutting edge information at your finger tips! My morning (coffee in hand) ritual of reviewing my RSS feeds lead to the discovery of monitter.
Monitter? What is it? "Simple. It's a twitter monitor, it lets you "monitter" the twitter world for a set of 3 keywords and watch what people are saying." Users type words into the search boxes and within seconds you'll start seeing relevant tweets streaming in, all live and real time. Aside from its "big brother" like properties there are some very real business implications for using this tool. For example if you want to monitor feedback on a particular brand, product or service.
Twitter (to me) seems to be a medium where people love to share frustrations and have a bit of whinge about stuff. A savvy marketing and product development team can utilize this as free Quality Assurance, Qualitative or Quantitative Research. Not just that—the really interesting thing is that Twitter recently purchased "Summize" the search engine for Twitter. However, Monniter is three times better allowing users to track the tweets for three different live and updating phrases as opposed to one! A herein lies it's real power over it's competitors like tweetdeck. Monitter is being developed by Alex Holt and has been online since July 27th.
