Web 2.0 Components

Web 2.0 has become a slightly contrived and overused term recently. Web 2.0 really refers to the 2nd Generation of website which, using programming conventions such as AJAX, create a more instantaneous "desktop application" feel to them by removing the need for the web browser to refresh the page every time the user clicks the mouse.

At VentureWeb we commonly use these techniques to add a dynamic element to web pages (such as image slideshows and the like), rather than creating full blown web applications, though we do have a good understanding of this technology.
