For over 20 years, Sonora Resort has enabled guests to escape their busy lives and immerse themselves in the pristine wilderness of Desolation Sound in British Columbia, Canada. The resort has long offered services and experiences of the highest quality, but its existing website did not communicate these messages in a captivating way and Sonora encountered challenges connecting with, informing, and inspiring potential guests. As a member of the Relais & Chateau grouping of luxury properties, Sonora Resort recognized the importance of an online presence that reflected the essence and quality of the Sonora experience.View Live Site
A personalised & engaging guest experience.
Our first task was to truly understand the guests and their motivations. With extensive research and analysis we developed four user archetypes and five personas that would inform the user experience. The next task was to create imagery that engaged and inspired. Working with photographer Robin O’Neill, VentureWeb led an on-resort photo shoot that brought the five personas to life. These elements, together with carefully scripted copy and a clean, modern interface design, established the building blocks of the website. Each guest persona is presented without adding clutter for other guests in search of their own Sonora experience.
