VentureWeb is excited to present Mountainfilm on Tour in Squamish. Taking place on October 30, 2016 at the Sea to Sky Gondola, the evening will feature a selection of the best short films from the annual Telluride Mountainfilm festival and raise funds for Squamish Search and Rescue. Squamish Search and Rescue is staffed by volunteers and relies entirely on donations to fund its operations. VentureWeb hopes to build on last year’s sold out event and raise $10,000 to help support their efforts.
The mission of Telluride Mountainfilm is to use the power of film, art and ideas to create a better world. Every Memorial Day weekend, Telluride, Colorado hosts a documentary film festival that showcases nonfiction stories about environmental, cultural, political and social justice issues that matter. Mountainfilm on Tour takes the films to the road, visiting more than 100 locations on six continents and reaching over 50,000 people each year.
Mountainfilm on Tour in Squamish will feature a selection of short films exploring themes of adventure, the environment, and connections between people and nature. There’ll also be an emcee packed with banter, a silent auction, and food and drinks available for purchase.
Tickets are $30 each (excluding a ride up and down on the gondola). They can be purchased from Sea to Sky Gondola, Urban Alpine, Escape Route (Squamish & Whistler), and Valhalla Pure (Squamish). If you’re around, we hope to see you there!
